“I had the opportunity to test in Milwaukee last week and I found the track very interesting. The one-mile oval has no banking so it felt very flat. I am glad I was able to practice at this great track before race day. During practice, the car felt great. We made a lot of changes, which made the car feel better, and made me feel more comfortable. Race day will be really tough because we have testing, qualifying and a race all in the same day; it will be a very fun but long day.

Now that we have tested in this course, we can put all the pieces together and get our car in a good starting position. Tires will be the biggest challenge of the race considering it is 100 laps. It is key to make sure our tires will be just as strong in the beginning as the end. . I am very excited as I prep to race my second oval of the season and gain more confidence in the car. It’s going to be a good weekend for the whole Jeffrey Mark Motorsport crew.”

DETROIT – It was another clean race for Jeffrey Mark Motorsport and the #76 pilot Juan Pablo Garcia. In his debut appearance at the Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix, Juan Pablo took the checkered flag at P9.

The sun was finally shining on the track as the 14 car grid zoomed around. An early race yellow caused a slight slow down, but after clean up the Firestone Indy Lights guys had a solid run. Turning into a timed event, the group completed 40 laps in their 60-minute competition.

“It was a pretty clean race with only one major yellow flag,” Garcia said. “Qualifying was tough because of all the red flags so I was glad the actual race went much smoother. The final set up of the car felt great and it was very consistent, the crew did a great job with that all weekend long. It was a hard 40 laps but I am happy I was able to get more experience out on the race track. I am becoming more confident with each lap I take and I am really looking forward to Milwaukee. ”

The Firestone Indy Lights group will take next weekend off before heading up to Wisconsin for the Milwaukee IndyFest on Friday June 15th.

INDIANAPOLIS – Jeffrey Mark Motorsport successfully completed their first oval of the season.  Starting from the back of the pack, #76 pilot Juan Pablo Garcia held on tight surviving two wrecks during the 40-lap event.

The field of 19 made for a crowded race at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway.  A five car accident towards the beginning of the show forced a red flag but the cars continued their laps shortly after.  A solid run for Juan Pablo Garcia as he looks to improve with experience.

“It was a very hard race for me,” Garcia said.  “I don’t have very much experience on ovals so each lap was new for me.  I am quite happy that I finished the race and I was able to learn a lot of things about ovals.  I now need to put all those together to improve for the next oval.”

Experience will come with time, as three more ovals are included in the Firestone Indy Light schedule this season.  The team will now head to Detroit for the Streets of Belle Isle on Saturday June 2.

INDIANAPOLIS — Jeffrey Mark Motorsport is proud to join forces with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and Alexander’s Army as they stride toward finding a cure for Cystic Fibrosis.

Passionate about helping others, JMM team owner Jeffrey Mark has always known this was an organization he wanted to help. “The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation holds a special place in my heart,” Mark said. “Having a cousin affected by the disease, I have become familiar with the daily struggles these families encounter. I am thrilled our organization is able to team up with Alexander’s Army and assist those in need.”

Alexander’s Army is a group of caring individuals dedicated to raising money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Cystic fibrosis is a chronic genetic disorder that drastically impacts the digestive and respiratory systems of those afflicted. For the 70,000 patients worldwide battling CF, the average life expectancy is just 37 years old.

Patrick and Deardra Cook of the Alexander’s Army Great Strides walk team are parents of 1 year old Alexander who was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at 17 days old.

“As the parents of a child born with cystic fibrosis, we were thrilled when Jeff offered to use JMM as a platform to promote the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation,” the Cooks said. “We hope that JMM’s continued success on the track will translate into increased public awareness about the great work being done by the Foundation. Our most heartfelt thanks goes out to Jeff and all the fine people working behind the scenes at JMM.”

Although a cure has yet to be discovered, the families affected have good reason to keep the faith.

“Thanks to the scientific research efforts supported by the Foundation and affiliated CF organizations around the globe, the CF community stands on the cusp of proclaiming that CF stands for Cure Found,” the Cooks added.

On Friday, May 25, JMM will host a special Q&A and autograph session in the INDYCAR Fan Village begining at 2pm.  Later that night, Detour Restaurant in Carmel will hold a special event promoting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.  The fun will begin at 6pm as fans are encouraged to attend this special event to learn more about CF and enjoy a fun night out.  A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Alexander’s Army and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to support medical research and public awareness efforts.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue University has reached an agreement with Firestone Indy Lights racing team Jeffrey Mark Motorsport that will provide opportunities for students and faculty to participate in motorsports while offering the team help with engineering and technology.

It follows the announcement earlier this month that Purdue has partnered with three INDYCAR racing teams, Dreyer & Reinbold Racing, Bryan Herta Autosport and HVM Racing.

Firestone Indy Lights is a stepping stone for drivers and teams that want to compete in the IZOD IndyCar Series and the Indianapolis 500. The teams will race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway May 25 during Carburetion Day.

The partnership between Jeffrey Mark Motorsport and Purdue means that the Indy Lights feeder series will prepare not only the next generation of drivers for INDYCAR but engineers and technicians also.

Jeffrey Mark earned a Purdue degree in sports medicine in 1995 and has been involved in the Purdue motorsports program. “I am thrilled to partner with my great alma mater,” he said. “After graduating, I knew I wanted to stay connected to the university, and this is the perfect opportunity. This partnership is a great way for students to experience the world of racing hands-on. I am honored to be able to support both Purdue University and the future of motorsports engineering.”

The Purdue logo will be featured on the back wing of the No. 76 Jeffrey Mark Motorsport car.

“Numerous internships were arranged this year through Motorsports-at-Purdue, a student club for those interested in a career in the motorsports industry,” said Danny White, an INDYCAR veteran who heads up motorsports efforts at Purdue. “Our program is now passing the second anniversary mark, and we have made great progress. We have excellent relationships with many different teams and series in the motorsports industry. And we have launched our first motorsports aerodynamics online course.

“In Indiana, it just doesn’t get much better than this” he said.

Any student interested in motorsports can join the organization. More information is available at http://www.motorsports-at-purdue.org/

Alton, VA – April 17, 2012 – The Mygale cars, powered by Honda, earned an impressive one-two finish at the F1600 Formula F Championship Series race at Virginia International Raceway. Brandon Newey (Bryan Herta Autosport with Curb Agajanian/Mygale/Honda) took home the victory on Sunday, while teammate Garett Grist (Bryan Herta Autosport with Curb Agajanian/Mygale/Honda) claimed the second place trophy during the Series’ first race weekend of the season.

Crossing the finish line side-by-side in a photo finish, Newey and Grist took the checkered flag with only a .042-second margin of victory. Just a day earlier, the duo earned a third-place (Newey) and fourth-place (Grist) finish.

“The Mygale was very fast right out of the box at Virginia,” said Newey. “It was responsive to all the changes that we made over the weekend. I am looking forward to continue developing the car.”

Grist agreed, adding, “The Mygale chassis has been amazing to drive. The car has been easy to tune and we have developed a fantastic baseline.”

Steve Bamford (Rice Race Prep/Mygale/Honda) also brought home a sixth-place finish for the Mygale running, making it three in the top six on Sunday’s race.

The Mygale North America team will again aim for the podium as the F1600 Series heads to Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, Connecticut on May 25-26, 2012.
